| 05.11 | Hamid's "Sidi" No. 6 World Music Charts Europe
Right away from release, the new album
Sidi
of Hamid is placed on position No. 6 at
World Music Charts Europe (WMCE).
Once a month radio-Worldmusic-specialists from twenty European
countries select their individual top ten favourites out of
current Worldmusic releases from their playlists. The
nominations are processed in a data-base and the top ten is
then published as the World Music Charts Europe.

It pays to wait: the new album
Sidi
out on Nov. 2nd!
To cut short the waiting: the title track "Sidi" is available
in full lenght as MP3
until Nov. 16th, besides as of
today the four first songs for pre-listening, as of Oct.
29th four more songs and from Nov.
2nd on the complete album.
As additional bonus we present
Caravan to Baghdad,
the classic video from first album
City No Mad.

| 29.08.2001 | Interview und Konzertmitschnitt vom WOMAD-Festival online
Hamids Erfolg beim Womad-Festival England im Juli 2001 wurde
von BBC Radio3 per Bild und Ton festgehalten und ist online
bis 1.10.2001. Abgerundet wird die Dokumentation durch ein
fünfminütiges Video-Interview.

| 23.07.2001 | Hamid Baroudi in Canada
In late summer, globetrotter Hamid Baroudi will head off to
Canada with his band to play at several large festivals there.
Amongst others they are the only western band to have been
invited to the CREE Indiana Community in northern Canada, a
big festival of all North American Indian tribes.
The whole thing will be broadcast on Canadian television, a
documentary will also be televised on CNN Worldbeat.

| 18.07.2001 | WOMAD Festival 2001 in Britain
Hamid Baroudi has been invited by Peter Gabriel himself to
take part at the WOMAD Festival in Reading. Among other things
he will host the following workshops:
28 July - 1 p.m. Songwriters Panel (meeting with songwriters,
workshop on composing)
28 July - 1.30 p.m. Hamid's Voice Acrobatic (in Thamesuite,
Reading)
Also on 28 July: Hamid + band will give a concert at 6 p.m. on
the Open Air Stage and on 29 July at 2 p.m. the second show
will be presented in the Siam Tent Womad.
BBC will record this live, likewise CNN Worldbeat who will
provide extensive coverage of the Womad Festival.

Hamid spielte zum zweiten Mal auf dem
WOMAD Festival in Caceres
/ Spanien. Außer mit seiner faszinierenden Liveshow hat er auch
diesmal mit seinen Workshops Furore gemacht: WOMAD hat eine
einstündige Videodokumentation gedreht, die weltweit an
Veranstalter geschickt wird und mit Sicherheit Hamid Baroudi
auf weitere Bühnen bringen wird.
Direkt von Spanien geht Hamids Reise weiter nach Kairo, wo er
zusammen mit Mounir seine erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit
fortsetzen wird.

Hier ist das langerwartete Ergebnis aus der Nordafrika-Connection: der
fertige Mix des Duetts Hamid Baroudi & Mounir, die Pop-Perle "Sidi",
die in dieser Version auf Mounirs neuem Album veröffentlicht wird, ein
Sommerhit nicht nur für Ägypten und Algerien. Und die Aufnahmen für
Hamids neues Album bergen noch eine ganze Perlenkette ...

Hamid Baroudi bekommt heute spontanen Besuch im Vielklang-Studio von
Ägyptens Superstar Mounir. Zusammen mit ihrem gemeinsamen Freund
Roman Bunka (u.a. Embryo) werden Roughmixe und Demos ausgetauscht,
live im Büro von Jörg getanzt und gesungen, auf der Weltkarte werden
Fäden gespannt, der Beginn einer wunderbaren Freundschaft. Wir
erwarten Großartiges! Achtung: erste Mixe demnächst hier, Mail
Service (siehe unten) nutzen!

Hamid Baroudi startet heute seine langerwartete dritte Albumproduktion
im Vielklang-Studio und hat wieder mal
Überraschungen im Gepäck, die beim Ethnologenkongress für Verwirrung
sorgen und in den Clubs von Tokyo, L.A. und Paris seine Erfolge von
1998/99 toppen werden.
Wir werden an dieser Stelle in den nächsten Wochen erste Roughmixe als
Zwischenergebnisse seiner aktuellen Studioarbeit hörbar machen, also
immer mal wieder reinsehen!
